By Muhammad A. Aliyu

Access Bank has announced a temporary shutdown of its services scheduled for Saturday, October 12, 2024, to carry out a comprehensive system upgrade.

The bank informed its customers through an email sent on Tuesday, October 7, 2024.

The upgrade will begin at 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12 and is expected to conclude by 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 13, aiming to enhance the optimization of the bank’s service delivery.

During this upgrade period, customers may experience disruptions while using the Access Bank mobile app, ATMs, and Internet Banking platforms.

However, the bank assured its customers that transactions using its *USSD code (901#) will remain functional, allowing them to perform key operations such as fund transfers, bill payments, and airtime or data purchases.

In a press release shared via the bank’s X handle, Access Bank emphasized the importance of the system upgrade.

“Dear Valued Customer, in line with our continuous drive to better serve you, we embarked on a comprehensive system upgrade to optimize the functionality of our systems,” the statement read.

The bank further assured customers that all services will be fully restored once the upgrade is completed and apologized for any inconveniences that may arise during the brief disruption.
