Governor of Adamawa state, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has announced the passing away of his father, Alhaji Umaru Badami.
Okay.ng learnt that he died at the age of 82 to a protracted illness.
Solomon Kumangar, the Director General Media and Communication, Government house Yola, announced the death on-behalf of the governor in a statement on Monday morning.
He noted that the late Alhaji Umaru Badami died on Sunday afternoon at the Federal Medical Center Yola.
According to the statement, Alhaji Badami, is an ex-serviceman who retired from the Nigerian Army.
The deceased hails from Madagali local government area of Adamawa state.
He left behind two wives and six children.
He has since been buried according to Islamic rite where the funeral prayer took place at the Lamido Adamawa Place Yola.
