Air Peace Flight Returns to Benin Shortly After Takeoff Due to Technical Issue

By Yusuf Abubakar

A Nigerian airline, Air Peace, announced that its flight en route from Benin to Abuja had to return shortly after takeoff due to a technical issue.

The incident occurred on Monday, and the airline cited safety as the reason for the precautionary landing.

Ejike Nduilo, Head of Corporate Communications at Air Peace, disclosed that the 12:50 p.m. flight returned to Benin after encountering what he described as a “technical snag.”

Nduilo emphasized that the decision was in line with necessary safety measures, ensuring the well-being of all passengers on board.

“Passengers disembarked normally after the aircraft landed back in Benin,” Nduilo stated in a notice released in Lagos.

He also assured that an alternative aircraft was provided to minimize travel disruptions for passengers affected by the incident.

“Our maintenance team are currently troubleshooting the cause of the snag,” Nduilo added.

“We are deploying replacement aircraft to Benin for us to minimise the disruptions and ensure passengers continue their journeys as soon as possible.

“We appeal for understanding of the passengers affected and others whose flights will be delayed as a result of this unforeseen development.”

The airline expressed regret for the inconvenience and appealed for the understanding of the affected passengers, as well as others who might experience delays due to the unforeseen development.

Air Peace reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining stringent safety standards in its operations.
