By Adamu Abubakar Isa

American Rapper, Willie Junior Maxwell II, also known as Fetty Wap has been sentenced to six years in prison for operating a cross-country drug trafficking operation.

This was made known by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York in a statement on Wednesday.

According to The Guardian, the 31-year-old rapper had pleaded guilty in August to a conspiracy drug charge, admitting to participating in a large-scale scheme trafficking of at least 500g or more of cocaine.

Prosecutors accused Fetty Wap and his four co-defendants of being part of a drug ring that dealt heroin, fentanyl, and crack cocaine in New York and New Jersey.

The other four defendants have also pleaded guilty and are still waiting to be sentenced.
