APC Lawmaker James Faleke Obtains Tinubu’s 2027 Re-election Forms

By Adamu Abubakar Isa

Abuja, NIGERIAPresident Bola Tinubu has formally signaled his intention to seek a second term in office by purchasing the All Progressives Congress (APC) Expression of Interest and Nomination forms.

The documents were obtained on his behalf by Hon. James Faleke, the lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency and leader of the Tinubu Support Groups, during a ceremony at the APC National Secretariat on Tuesday.

The forms, which are priced at ₦100 million (approx. $73,529), were presented by the APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu.

Okay News understands that this move marks the official commencement of the President’s internal campaign within the ruling party to secure the ticket for the upcoming 2027 general elections.

This political development aligns with the revised electoral timeline released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Following the enactment of the Electoral Act 2026, the commission has scheduled the Presidential and National Assembly elections for January 16, 2027. Party primaries, including the resolution of internal disputes, are mandated to take place between April 23 and May 30, 2026.

The APC has already adjusted its primary schedule to comply with these statutory timelines, with presidential and gubernatorial primaries now expected in late May 2026. Official campaigns for the presidency are set to begin on August 19, 2026.
