The senate on Wednesday has set up an ad hoc committee to investigate Elisha Abbo.
The senator representing Adamawa north, was seen in a video assaulting a woman.
The video caused so much outrage on social media calling for him to step down for his action.
Uba Sani, senator representing Kaduna central, during plenary on Wednesday sponsored the motion over the incident.
The President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, constituted the panel headed by Sam Egwu, to probe the alleged assault on the woman by Senator Elisha Abbo.
Other members of the panel are, Senators Oluremi Tinubu, Mathew Urhoghide, Stella Oduah, Dauda Aliu Jika, Sani Musa, and Danladi Sankara.
