Awad Ibn Ouf, Sudan defence minister, has taken an own oath as new chief of the new military council.

Okay Nigeria had earlier reported that the army imposed a two-year rule in Sudan after successfully outcasting Omar al-Bashir as president.

However, Awad Ibn Ouf has been sworn in to replace al-Bashir as the head of the council.

Lieutenant General Kamal Abdelmarouf was appointed as his deputy.
