Popular crossdresser and self-proclaimed transgender celebrity, Bobrisky, has successfully left Nigeria after facing challenges that hindered her earlier attempts to travel out of the country.

Bobrisky’s latest attempt to leave the country was disrupted last Thursday when officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) re-arrested her at the airport.

A video circulating on social media showed officials escorting her off a plane, highlighting her ongoing legal troubles.

The EFCC confirmed the incident, explaining that Bobrisky was held to assist in a bribery investigation involving the agency.

According to Dele Oyewale, spokesperson for the EFCC, the social media star was expected to provide information to aid the investigation.

“It is just for him to come and establish the basis and write a statement to that effect, and he will be released,” Oyewale stated.

On Monday, Bobrisky shared videos on her Instagram stories showing herself aboard a plane, signaling that she had finally managed to leave Nigeria.

Although she kept her destination undisclosed, she hinted at significant travel expenses, claiming to have spent over N30 million on first-class tickets.

In her words, “See you soon, Nigeria. This girl bought a first-class ticket three times; that’s over 30 million. Raise the bar for this girl.”

Bobrisky’s departure follows a period of intense public scrutiny due to allegations of bribery and money laundering.

The situation escalated recently when activist VeryDarkMan released an audio recording, allegedly capturing Bobrisky claiming she paid N15 million to EFCC officials to dismiss money laundering charges against her.

Bobrisky has since denied the authenticity of the recording, dismissing it as fabricated and threatening legal action against the activist.

This incident is one of several recent legal challenges for the crossdresser. She was previously detained at the Seme border for allegedly attempting to exit the country without proper authorization.

Now, Bobrisky, the EFCC, and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) are under investigation by a House of Representatives committee over bribery claims linked to her case.
