Abuja, Nigeria – Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, has summoned a meeting with the country’s service chiefs over the worsening security situation.
Okay News understands that the meeting, currently taking place at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Abuja, is focused on addressing the recent surge in insecurity across the country.
Among those attending are the Chief of Defence Staff, Olufemi Oluyede; the Chief of Army Staff, Waidi Shaibu; the Chief of Air Staff, Sunday Aneke; and the Chief of Naval Staff, Idi Abass.
Security agencies, including the National Intelligence Agency, are also represented at the meeting.
The development comes amid recent attacks on military bases in Nigeria’s North-East. Reports also indicate that three commanding officers of the Nigerian Army, all of the rank of lieutenant-colonel, were recently killed by terrorists in Borno State.
