Buhari And His Entourage Stop At Ogoniland

All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate in next month’s election, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) has taken his campaign to Ogoniland in Rivers state.

The Daura -born general’s entourage includes the Rivers state governor, Rotimi Amaechi, National chairman of the APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, national women leader of the APC, Mrs. Sharon Ikeazor, former Ekiti state governor, Chief Niyi Adebayo, Senator Magnus Abe amongst others.

The APC candidate had a town hall meeting with the indigenes of the town which includes the traditional leader of Ogoniland, HRH King Giniwa.

Buhari who visited some members of the APC allegedly shot yesterday in Rivers state has been on campaign tour of South-south states.

Ogoniland is one of the worst hit communities in the Niger Delta region suffering from oil spill damages, but recently individuals and the community who dragged American oil company, Shell to a London court were compensated by Shell.

Buhari was presented with ‘Gekpe’ which is a symbol of a sword of honour by the traditional leader of the land, HRH King Giniwa

Ogoni town is located in Tai Local Government Area of Rivers state and it is where Late Ken Saro -Wiwa hails from.

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode recently said “Asking Buhari to rule is like asking a rapist to watch over a virgin”.
