Chelsea End Losing Streak with Draw Against Liverpool

By Adamu Abubakar Isa

LIVERPOOL, England – Chelsea secured a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday, ending their recent run of defeats in the Premier League.

Okay News reports that the hosts took an early lead through a stunning sixth-minute strike from Ryan Gravenberch. However, Chelsea responded positively and leveled the scoreline before the break when a teasing free-kick from captain Enzo Fernandez evaded everyone in the box and found the back of the net.

The second half saw both sides create significant chances to claim all three points. Chelsea thought they had taken the lead when Cole Palmer found the net, but the goal was ruled out by VAR for a narrow offside in the build-up. Meanwhile, Liverpool applied late pressure and hit the woodwork twice through Dominik Szoboszlai and Virgil van Dijk.

The result leaves the Blues in ninth place in the Premier League standings as they prepare for their next major fixture. Chelsea will now shift their focus to next weekend’s FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium, where they are scheduled to face Manchester City for the trophy.
