Cross River State Governor Announces 14-day Extended Christmas Holiday for Civil Servants

The Governor of Cross River State, Bassey Otu, has announced a 14-day extended Christmas holiday for all civil servants in the state.

The holiday, which commenced on December 20, 2023, will run through January 2, 2024.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Emmanuel Ogbeche, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, conveyed that only essential workers are exempted from the extended holiday. Governor Otu expressed appreciation to the workers for their dedication and hard work throughout the year.

The governor urged civil servants to utilize the extended break to spend quality time with their families and participate in the annual Calabar carnival. He emphasized his administration’s commitment to providing a conducive environment for all citizens and residents of the state.

Governor Otu extended his warm wishes to the people of Cross River State for a merry Christmas and a prosperous new year. The declaration of the extended holiday reflects the government’s acknowledgment of the hard work and commitment of civil servants and aims to provide them with an opportunity to enjoy the festive season with their loved ones.
