Dangote Refinery Denies ₦600 Per Litre Petrol Price Claim

By Muhammad A. Aliyu

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has denied claims that it has set a price for petrol, following reports suggesting that the refinery’s petrol would be sold at ₦600 per litre.

In a statement issued on Friday, Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Group, dismissed the reports as speculative and baseless.

He clarified that the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) is not an official partner of the refinery, nor has there been any discussion with them regarding the pricing of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).

“We would like to clarify that the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) is not our business partner yet. We have never discussed the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) with them, and they have no mandate or authority to speak for us, either for good or with hidden transcript,” Chiejina stated.

The statement urged the public to disregard such speculative announcements, emphasizing that any official communication regarding the refinery’s operations or pricing would be made through established and recognized channels.
