Dangote Refinery Passes Quality Test, Contradicts Claims of Substandard Products

By Adamu Abubakar Isa

Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man, has refuted allegations that his refinery produces substandard petroleum products. During a visit by the leadership of the House of Representatives to the Dangote Refinery in Lagos, Dangote and his team conducted tests to demonstrate the quality of their products.

The tests, which included sulphur level and flash point tests, showed that diesel from the Dangote Refinery met international standards, with a sulphur content of 87.6 ppm and a flash point of 96. In contrast, diesel from two other filling stations had higher sulphur levels and lower flash points, indicating substandard quality.

Dangote attributed the discrepancy to potential manipulation of test results by some laboratories. Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, called for an investigation into the contradictory claims, suggesting potential ulterior motives.
