Lagos, NIGERIA — Hon. Desmond Olushola Elliott has officially declared his intention to seek a return to the Lagos State House of Assembly, representing Surulere Constituency I in the 2027 General Elections. In a formal statement shared with Okay News on Monday, the actor-turned-politician confirmed that he has obtained his nomination form, citing a commitment to “consolidate progress” and leverage his legislative experience for the benefit of his constituents.
A central pillar of Elliott’s re-election campaign is the pursuit of “Ranking Status.” He emphasized that returning to the House would confer a senior status on his constituency, a position that traditionally attracts greater legislative influence, committee leadership opportunities, and increased resource allocation within the Lagos State governance framework. Elliott’s move aligns with the APC’s broader strategy of retaining experienced hands in the South-West to maintain the “Absolute Clarity” seen in the party’s recent national communications.
Addressing his supporters, party leaders, and stakeholders across Surulere Local Government, the actor-turned politician appealed for peace and unity. This declaration comes amidst a flurry of activity in the Lagos APC, as the party adjusts its screening dates to May 8–12 following the recent deadline extensions announced by Felix Morka.
