Abuja, NIGERIA — The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has officially scheduled Thursday, May 21, 2026, as the passing-out date for the 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream II corps members. In a statement released on Monday, the Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, confirmed that the wind-down activities will commence across the 36 states and the FCT starting Tuesday, May 5.

The transition process will begin with Job Advisory and Counselling (JAC) sessions organized in collaboration with relevant agencies to prepare the outgoing graduates for the labor market. This will be followed by the signing of final clearances with Zonal Inspectors (ZIs) and Local Government Inspectors (LGIs).

Okay News reports that the Director-General, Brig.-Gen. Olakunle Nafiu, has approved a “low-key” ceremony, where Certificates of National Service (CNS) will be distributed at the local government level to minimize logistical hurdles for the corps members.

Brig.-Gen. Nafiu congratulated the outgoing personnel, urging them to remain “worthy representatives” of the scheme and to apply the skills acquired during their service year—including those from the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) program—as they transition into civil life. The scheme emphasized that only qualified members who have successfully completed their primary assignments and community development services will be eligible for certification.
