DSS Arrests Kidnappers, Cattle Rustlers In Kano

The Department of State Security (DSS) has arrested nine suspected notorious kidnappers, cattle rustlers, armed robbers and car snatchers, stressing that the suspects would be charged before the court of law immediately after investigation.

Abdullahi Bello Charanchi, who is the state director revealed to the members of the media, Thursday, at a special media briefing at the Department’ s office in Kano, disclosed the names of Umar Ali Mainasara, Ali Muhammed, Auwalu Muhammed, Habibu Haladu, Ibrahim Sulaiman, Emma Ogbonna, Sulaiman Magaji, a Nigerien, amongst the arrested.

“They were arrested at different locations in the state, while some of them were trailed and arrested in other states.,” he said.

Charanchi further disclosed that, ”Kabiru Salisu was a domestic worker at the residence of Sheikh Ishaqa Rabi’u. Who led others and did their nefarious activities there, because he knows the house in and out.”

According to him the robbers robbed the residence of a daughter of Ishaqa Rabi’u alongside with Alhaji Abdussamad Ishaqa Rabi’u, the owner of IRS Airline.

“They carted away with millions of Naira meant for Zakkat, during this Fasting period. At the daughter’s residence, they also carted away with jewelries and other expensive materials,” he explained.

The Director said some of the suspects were at large. “Among the things recovered from them are four pistols one pump action gun, 37.9 rounds of ammunition, jewelries, expensive clothes and cash, ” he concluded.
