EFCC Arrests 33 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Port Harcourt

Operatives of the Port Harcourt Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 33 suspected internet fraudsters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Okay.ng reports.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the EFCC said the suspects were apprehended during a sting operation in their hideouts located in the Iwofe and Ogboro areas of the city.

The arrests followed credible intelligence linking the individuals to suspected internet fraud activities.

Items recovered from the suspects include several mobile phones, laptops, boxes of fake United States dollars, fake FBI stamps, as well as stamps from Customs, airport clearance, DHL, and FedEx.

Additionally, two cars were seized during the operation.

The EFCC stated that the suspects will be charged in court after investigations are concluded.
