State House, Abuja, NIGERIA — A delegation of stakeholders from Enugu State visited the Presidential Villa on Tuesday, to pledge their “unalloyed support” for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

The delegation was led by Governor Peter Mbah and included an array of prominent figures across the political spectrum, including former Senate President Ken Nnamani and former governors Sullivan Chime, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, and Jim Nwobodo.

Okay News reports that the move signals a warming relationship between the Enugu State government and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), driven by federal interventions in the South-East.

President Tinubu, while receiving the group, commended Governor Mbah for his transformative leadership and his efforts in taming insecurity. The President noted that the alignment of leaders from other parties with the APC validates his administration’s economic reforms. He further assured the delegation that the Federal Government would prioritize the Port Harcourt-Enugu railway line and ongoing power sector reforms as backbones for the region’s economic development.

Governor Mbah expressed gratitude for the President’s investment in Enugu State, citing landmark projects inaugurated in January 2026 that have boosted the local economy. Senator Ken Nnamani echoed these sentiments, affirming that the state’s leadership has full confidence in President Tinubu to lead the nation beyond 2027.

The visit featured a broad coalition of South-East elite, including:

Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology: Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh
Chief of Air Staff: Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke
Former Chief of Naval Staff: Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla
Religious and Traditional Leaders: Various representatives from across the state

This endorsement is viewed by political analysts as a pivotal moment for the APC’s strategy in the South-East, traditionally an opposition stronghold. By securing the backing of influential leaders like Mbah and Ugwuanyi, the Tinubu administration appears to be successfully leveraging infrastructure development for political consolidation ahead of the next general election cycle.
