Evangelist Mike Bamiloye Warns Against Criticising Men of God

By Yusuf Abubakar

Renowned Nigerian evangelist and filmmaker Mike Bamiloye has cautioned against speaking ill of men of God, warning of potential spiritual consequences.

In a statement shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Bamiloye used biblical references to illustrate the dangers of criticising spiritual leaders.

“Some people have carried unnecessary curses they ought not to have carried in the first place. Why? Because they had insulted some genuine men of God who carry fires meant for the devil,” he wrote.

Bamiloye referred to the biblical account in 2 Samuel 6:16 and 6:23, where Michal, the daughter of Saul, despised King David for dancing before God. Though David did not curse her, Michal faced divine retribution and remained childless until her death.

“That is how some ignorant and arrogant people are getting their fingers burnt in the fire they cannot quench,” he said. “Because some men of God had disappointed you does not imply every man of God you see should now be despised and insulted. It is a very dangerous venture.”

Bamiloye further highlighted the growing trend of individuals publicly criticising clergy, urging caution. “Some people are always looking for any excuse to despise and talk against men of God. Fear for your future!” he warned.
