Ex-Aviation Minister Osita Chidoka Resigns from PDP

By Muhammad A. Aliyu

Former Minister of Aviation Osita Chidoka has announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), signaling a temporary retreat from active politics to focus on advocacy and governance reforms.

Chidoka made the announcement during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday, where he revealed that he had officially submitted his resignation letter to his ward in Anambra State.

Explaining the rationale behind his decision, Chidoka said he plans to dedicate his time and resources to his non-profit organization, the Athena Centre, which focuses on evidence-based advocacy and political system reform.

“Earlier today, I sent a letter to my ward in Anambra State resigning officially from the PDP. I am leaving the PDP, I am leaving politics for some time, I am focusing on the Athena Centre,” Chidoka said.

He emphasized his commitment to working with like-minded Nigerians to address systemic issues in the country’s political landscape and promote governance driven by data and research.

Chidoka served as Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
