KADUNA, Nigeria – Unknown gunmen killed five people and injured three others during an attack on a Nigerian Forest Security Service office in the Gidan Waya community on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
Okay News reports that Gaji Ampot, an intelligence officer for the Gidan Waya Command, confirmed the incident at the scene, stating the attackers targeted the personnel while they were carrying out official duties at approximately 8:00 p.m. WAT.
“One of the gunmen arrived on a motorcycle from one direction, while others approached on foot from the opposite side and began shooting.
“All but one of the victims were our men. The fifth person killed was a student who was in our office to resolve an issue,” he said.
The three injured victims were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
At the scene, bloodstains were visible as residents gathered in small groups discussing the incident.
