A former military administrator and civilian governor of the old Bendel State, Dr Samuel Ogbemudia, has died at the age of 84.

According to family sources, Ogbemudia died Thursday night in Lagos.
Dr Ogbemudia had been on admission at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) for some months before he was taken to Lagos.
He suffered a prolonged battle with diabetes before his death.
