There was panic in the Funtua Local Government Area, LGA, of Katsina state on Wednesday as military officials and members of the Shia Islamic sect group reportedly clashed.

The incident reportedly occurred during the Ashuraa Procession of the group in the wee hours of today.

While many lives were lost, scores sustained high degrees of injuries.

Although When Forumspotz Media contacted the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, in Katsina, Salisu Agaisa, was not available for comments as at press time. We gathered that members of Nigerian Red Cross Society were deployed to rescue the wounded.
