Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) has confirmed that its website was the target of an attempted breach, but assured customers that their data is safe. The bank’s website has been inaccessible since Wednesday night, sparking concerns of a potential data compromise.

However, GTBank stated that the incident was an “isolated attempt to compromise” its domain and that customer information is not stored on its website. The bank’s information security experts are working to restore domain settings, and the website is expected to be back online soon.

GTBank urged customers to disregard reports of a website clone and assured them of its commitment to safeguarding customer data. The bank’s swift response aims to alleviate concerns and maintain trust with its customers.
