Imo Guber Poll: Uzodimma Picks New Running Mate

By Adamu Abubakar Isa

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has designated Lady Chinyere Ihuoma Ekomaro as his running mate for the upcoming November gubernatorial election.

Uzodimma, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the election, introduced his chosen running mate in Owerri, the state capital, on Saturday.

“I have highlighted a selection of our accomplishments today to inform the people of Imo that the APC government remains the most favorable option for achieving the desired enhancements in quality of life and economic growth,” he expressed.

“Hence, during the re-election campaign, I intend to rely on the outcomes of my work to serve as the primary message. The citizens of Imo, who I am familiar with as appreciative, acknowledge what we have achieved over the past 43 months,” the governor further remarked.

“We do not require the application of tactics, deceitful strategies, propaganda, or manipulative politics to secure re-election. Those are tools of the opposition, who lack substantial content,” he emphasized.

Governor Uzodimma also reaffirmed his commitment to fostering a tranquil environment conducive to a transparent and impartial election process in November. He believes that his administration has excelled in safeguarding lives and property, despite certain security challenges within the state.

He clarified that his selection of Ekomaro as his running mate does not imply any discord with the incumbent Deputy Governor, Placid Njoku. Rather, the decision stems from strategic political considerations.
