INEC officially declares APC’s Abdullahi Umar Ganduje winner of Kano governorship election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of the All Progressive Congress (APC), winner of the governorship election in Kano state.

Okay Nigeria had earlier reported that Professor B. B Shehu, INEC Returning Officer in the state, announced the results of the supplementary election after the collation ended as Ganduje of the All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 45,876 votes while Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scored 10,239 votes.

However, after a prayer break, Professor B. B Shehu declared Abdullahi Ganduje of the APC winner after securing 1, 033,695 votes against his PDP counterpart, Abba Yusuf who polled 1,024,713 votes in total.
