By Farouk Mohammed

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has registered 176, 000 voters in Niger state in the ongoing continuous voters registration.

Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state Prof. Samuel Egwu revealed this in Minna on Thursday.

Egwu noted that the commissioner had registered 742 personnel to political wards across the state to ensure the massive registration of eligible voters.

According to him, INEC had reached out to stakeholders, traditional rulers and leaders of the various political parties to mobilise those who had earlier registered but not collected their permanent voter cards to do so at the commission offices across the 25 local government areas.

He also called on those who have not registered to do so before the close of the exercise.
