The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has released the timetable for the recall of Kogi West’s Senator Dino Melaye.
This is amidst reports that the senator had dragged the commission to court over the issue.
Earlier on Monday, spokesperson of INEC, Rotimi Oyekanmi, said the commission would meet to decide on the timetable despite the court issue.
“Yes, it is true we received a letter from his lawyer but that is just an intention to go to court, the case has not been heard so you can’t say we should stop our process because he wants to go to court”, he said, “he can go to court and pursue whatever he wants to, but we’ll go on with our process”.
