Invasion Rumours Trigger Evacuations in Ogun State

Ijoko Ota, Nigeria – Parents in the Ijoko area of the Sango Ota axis within the Ado Odo Ota Local Government of Ogun State began evacuating their children from local schools at 12:00 PM WAT on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, following rumours of an unknown school invasion.

Okay News reports that parents initiated the mass evacuation as a result of an alarm raised in the community. An anonymous staff member at a private school in the area detailed the start of the incident.

“A call came in that NUD (A public Nursery School in Ijoko, off first Junction) should shut down then parents start coming out in to take their children),” the staff member said.

School administrators and various individuals are currently stationed at the gates trying to retrieve the students. Private school management teams are working to ensure that the rightful students are handed over to their respective parents.
