Governor Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi of Rivers State has called on Nigerians to vote out President Goodluck Jonathan over his inability to achieve anything meaningful since he assumed office six years ago.

Amaechi who described Jonathan as “I will do’’ president affirmed that Nigeria would no longer welcome Jonathan’s empty promises of ‘I will do’.

The governor who doubles as the DG of the Buhari/Osinbajo Campaign Organisation made this call in Benin, the Edo State capital during the presidential rally of the party in the state.

Addressing the mammoth crowd that came out to welcome the Peoples General on Thursday, Amaechi mocked Jonathan for admitting that he had not achieved anything since he came on board during his rally in Port Harcourt.

Speaking on Jonathan’s promises, Amaechi said: “Yesterday, the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, in person of Goodluck Jonathan admitted that he had not done anything in the South South region. You heard him.

We recalls that Jonathan had admitted the criticism by Governor Amaechi that his government has not done anything for the people of Rivers State.

President Jonathan, who spoke during the presidential rally of the Peoples Democratic Party at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Igwuruta-Ali, Ikwerre Local Government of Rivers State, however yesterday, promised to develop the South-South region if elected for a second term in office.

““We did not divide North or South; we made sure that all the states that had no federal university got a federal university. I am not going to comment on development in Rivers State and Bayelsa states. I can reassure you that just work with us; vote for us on February 14”

Reacting further, Amaechi said, ”He only promised to do and not what he had done. Our responsibility is to get a man who is capable of making things happen. He told us to vote for him that he will do.”

Do you know what I call him now? I will do president. If you listen to his speech all he keep saying is I will do and not I have done. You will agree with me that all the projects in south south region of the country were erected by a northerner.

And our president after six years is still telling us that ‘I will do’. I tell you it is time to vote out I will do President and vote in a man who has good records of achievements? One thing about trust is when it is betrayed, you can never repair it. Jonathan has betrayed the trust, it is time to push him out.

‘’If our president has not been able to perform, what do we do to him,” the crowed chorused, ”let’s vote him out.’’
