Adeyinka Adeleke, the All Progressives Congress (APC) councillorship candidate for Abeokuta South Local Government Ward 15, was tragically murdered by suspected gunmen in the Jide Jones area of Abeokuta South Local Government, Ogun State, on Saturday afternoon, Okay.ng reports.
The assailants reportedly arrived in a tinted car, shooting sporadically, and attacked Adeleke, leaving him in a pool of blood.
Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with residents scrambling for safety and shops being hastily closed.
The incident occurred around 2 pm, catching everyone off guard, and authorities are still unsure if it was a cultist attack.
Adeleke was not only a councillorship candidate but also a transport union worker in the Panseke area of Abeokuta.
