Kogi Governor Ododo Vows Justice for Victims of Agojeju-Odo Community Attack

By Muhammad A. Aliyu

The Governor of Kogi State, Usman Ododo, has pledged to ensure that the perpetrators behind the brutal attack on Agojeju-Odo community in Omala Local Government Area (LGA) face justice.

The governor’s assurance comes in the wake of a tragic incident on April 5, where gunmen invaded the community, resulting in the loss of 25 lives, multiple injuries, and significant property damage.

Describing the attack as a “dastardly act,” Governor Ododo emphasized that swift action would be taken to apprehend the culprits responsible for the heinous crime.

Governor Ododo stated: “I am assuring the citizens that the perpetrators of the dastardly act will be brought to justice soon.

“Already, security agencies are on the trail of the assailants whose acts of mindless cowardice resulted in the destruction of lives and property in the area.”

In response to the tragic event, Governor Ododo dispatched a delegation led by his Deputy Governor, Joel Oyibo-Salifu, to convey condolences to the affected community.

Additionally, the governor announced plans to deploy a detachment of the recently established Metropolitan Quick Response team to the area to address ongoing security challenges.

Governor Ododo extended heartfelt sympathies to the families of the victims and assured them of government support for those injured and individuals whose properties were damaged in the attack.
