KWASU Disables Portal of Student Allegedly Involved in Inappropriate Skit Pending Investigation

By Muhammad A. Aliyu

The management of Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has announced that it has disabled the portal of a male student allegedly involved in a skit where he was seen making inappropriate contact with female students.

This action serves as a preliminary punitive measure while the Student Disciplinary Committee conducts a thorough investigation into the incident.

Dr. Saeedat Aliyu, the Acting Director of University Relations, conveyed this information on Wednesday.

She emphasized that the skits in question do not represent the values upheld by KWASU or the ethical orientation of its student body.

“KWASU is an institution that prides itself on producing the total graduate, both in character and in learning, and has zero tolerance for any form of indiscipline,” Aliyu stated.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Jimoh Shaykh-Luqman, directed the disabling of the student’s portal as an immediate response pending the committee’s findings.

This measure underscores the university’s commitment to maintaining high standards of decency and discipline.

“We wish to reiterate that KWASU holds in high esteem the values of decency that all religions promote and will not condone any act that can jeopardize this value,” Aliyu added.
