Lagos APC Welcomes Jandor Back into the Fold During Umrah Pilgrimage

The Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC), the influential body within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has formally received Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, widely known as Jandor, back into the party. Jandor, a former prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Visioner of the Lagos4Lagos Movement, had defected to the APC in March 2025.

According to a statement released on Thursday in Lagos by his spokesperson, Pastor Gbenga Ogunleye, Jandor’s return was marked by a warm reception from key GAC members. The statement specifically named Prince Tajudeen Olusi, the Chairman of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council, Chief Rabiu Oluwa, the Badagry Division Apex Leader of the APC and a fellow GAC member, Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon, and Senator Musiliu Obanikoro are those present at the welcoming.

Interestingly, Jandor revealed that this significant meeting and reception took place in Saudi Arabia, during the Umrah pilgrimage. He stated that this encounter served as a “symbolic moment of engagement between key stakeholders in Lagos politics, emphasising the importance of unity.”

The statement further emphasized the significance of the meeting, noting that it “reflects a shared commitment to the progress and unity of Lagos State, underscoring the enduring values of collective responsibility and synergy in the furtherance of the vision of the ruling party.”

Dr. Adediran’s return to the APC follows his resignation from the PDP on March 3, citing reasons of indiscipline and betrayal by certain leaders within the opposition party. It’s noteworthy that Adediran, who spearheaded the Lagos4Lagos Movement and previously aspired to be the APC’s gubernatorial candidate, had initially defected from the APC to the PDP back in 2021. His return marks a significant shift in the Lagos political landscape.
