The Lagos State Police Command has made significant progress in its investigation into the death of Nigerian singer Mohbad, whose real name is Ilerioluwa Aloba, with Ms. Feyisayo Ogedengbe, an auxiliary nurse, identified as the prime suspect.

Additionally, Naira Marley, Sam Larry, Primeboy, and one other individual have been named as suspects in the case.

Mohbad passed away on September 12 at the age of 27, and the circumstances surrounding his death have sparked controversy, with old videos of the singer alleging bullying and physical assault resurfacing.

Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, held a press briefing on Friday, during which he disclosed that Feyisayo Ogedengbe had administered “multiple and highly potent” injections to Mohbad on September 12.

These injections included Tetanus Toxoid, paracetamol, and Cetrazone, an antibiotic, which triggered an immediate adverse reaction, including vomiting, goosebumps, and convulsions.

Owohunwa emphasized that Ogedengbe was unqualified to perform the role of a home nurse and administered the injections in a non-clinical environment, displaying professional negligence.

Another suspect in the case is Ibrahim Oluwatosin Owodunni, also known as Primeboy, who is described as a childhood friend of Mohbad.

The police commissioner revealed that Primeboy had attended a show with Mohbad on September 10, during which a physical altercation occurred between the two, ultimately resulting in the singer’s injury.

“The management of the injury subsequently resulted in his death,” Owohunwa said.

Sam Larry, whose real name is Samson Balogun, was arrested and remains in detention due to his alleged complicity in the Afrobeats star’s death and in connection with viral videos posted by Mohbad regarding bullying and assault.

Likewise, Abdul-Aziz Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, has also been arrested and is currently in detention over similar allegations.

The police commissioner further revealed that the exhumation of Mohbad’s remains, an autopsy, and toxicology tests were carried out on September 21, with the results of these investigations still pending.
