Following the Lekki Gardens building collapse some months ago which caused the shutdown of the property by the Lagos State Government, the property has now been approved for reopening after the buildings had passed Structural Stability And Integrity Tests.

The collapsed uncompleted building in one of the construction sites had led to an order by the State Government requesting that Integrity tests be carried out on all the houses built by Lekki Worldwide Estates Limited to ascertain their structural stability.

According to reports from News Agency, Vanguard, a statement credited to the Lagos State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Mr Wasiu Anifowoshe, has directed that the buildings be unsealed and the tenants have been granted permission to return to their houses.

The statement further noted that the integrity test which was carried out on the buildings was conducted by the Lagos State Material Testing Laboratory and the results have been forwarded to the Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, who reserves the right to announce the results.

The Commissioner also noted that further investigations are being carried to establish the exact cause of the collapse.
