Manchester United is facing a significant summer upheaval as five prominent players—Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia—have officially expressed their desire to leave the club, according to well-known football journalist Fabrizio Romano.

In a move that underscores the seriousness of the situation, Manchester United has postponed the return of these players to pre-season training until later in July. This delay is intended to provide additional time for all parties to “explore solutions further,” signaling a potential major squad overhaul under the management of Rúben Amorim.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Friday, “Marcus Rashford, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrell Malacia, Jadon Sancho have all informed Manchester United they wish to leave. Man Utd have delayed their return date until later in July to allow them time to explore solutions further.”

Rashford’s potential departure is particularly notable. A product of the club’s academy and a long-standing figure in United’s attack, the England international has already handed over his iconic No. 10 shirt to new signing Matheus Cunha, indicating a new era at Old Trafford.

Jadon Sancho, who struggled to secure a consistent role and spent part of last season on loan at Chelsea, is also looking for a permanent exit. Meanwhile, Alejandro Garnacho, a promising young talent, seeks more playing time elsewhere after limited opportunities.

Antony, who impressed during his loan at Real Betis, and Malacia, who has battled injuries and a loan spell at PSV Eindhoven, are eager to restart their careers with new clubs.

Manchester United’s management appears open to offloading several players this summer to raise funds for new acquisitions and reduce the wage bill, reflecting a broader strategy to reshape the squad.

Okay.ng reports that this development comes amid a broader transfer window where United have already invested heavily, including the £62.5 million signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves, highlighting the club’s intent to rebuild aggressively this summer.
