May Edochie, the first wife of actor Yul Edochie, has issued a response to her husband’s apology following his marriage to a second wife earlier this year.

In a statement posted on social media, May emphasized the importance of forgiveness and love, but also made it clear that she does not accept polygamy and will not be numbered in a home that was built on a Catholic marriage.

“Forgiveness is the highest and most beautiful form of love for me. There is no love without forgiveness, and there is no forgiveness without love,” May wrote in a post via her Instagram page.

“Hate is too great a burden to bear. I am still very much incapable of hating anyone, let alone the father of my children.”

Despite her willingness to forgive, May made it clear that she will not be coerced into accepting a practice that goes against her beliefs, faith, and values.

“I will not be numbered in a home that we started building with love, faith, tears, hopes, and prayers in a Catholic marriage of 18 years following a long term premarital relationship,” she said.

May also appealed for an end to the constant “show” on social media, asking for consideration for their children and the impact the drama might have on them.

“Let’s prevent our lovely children from all the incessant drama series that might take a toll on them directly or indirectly amongst their peers,” she said.
