Nigeria Customs Service Opens Recruitment for 3,927 Officers Across Cadres [Apply]

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has officially opened applications for the recruitment of 3,927 officers across various positions in its Superintendent, Inspector, and Customs Assistant cadres.

The recruitment exercise, which began on Friday, December 27, 2024, is part of the NCS’s efforts to enhance trade facilitation and contribute to Nigeria’s economic recovery. Applications will remain open until January 2, 2025.

In a statement announcing the recruitment, the NCS warned Nigerians to beware of scammers seeking to exploit the process.

“Our recruitment process is completely FREE and FAIR. We DO NOT charge any fees at any stage of the recruitment process. If anyone demands payment, they are scammers,” the NCS said.

Basic Requirements for Applicants

To be eligible for the recruitment, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a Nigerian citizen by birth.
  • Possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN).
  • Have no criminal record or ongoing investigation.

Academic Requirements for Each Cadre

  1. Superintendent Cadre:
    • A university degree or HND (Higher National Diploma) from a recognized institution.
    • NYSC Discharge Certificate or Exemption Certificate.
  2. Inspectorate Cadre:
    • National Diploma (ND) or Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) from an approved institution.
  3. Customs Assistant Cadre:
    • O’Level Certificate (WAEC or NECO).

All applicants must also be physically and mentally fit, with evidence of medical fitness from a recognized government hospital.
