Nigerian government to close all land borders for elections

The Nigerian government has directed the closure of all land borders effective from 12 noon Friday 15th February to 12 noon Sunday 17th February 2019.

This development was disclosed in a statement signed by Muhammad Babandede, the comptroller general of immigration.

He stated that the directive is to help restrict movement across the borders during the elections.

He, however, advised Members of the public to comply with the directive.
