Zaria, Kaduna State, NIGERIA — The Minister of State for Defence and former Governor of Zamfara State, H.E. Bello Matawalle, arrived in Zaria on Saturday, while en route to Gusau.
The Minister is traveling to the Zamfara State capital to preside over a high-level All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders meeting scheduled for later today.
Accompanying the Minister is a powerful delegation of political leaders from the state, including the Senator representing Zamfara North, Sen. Sahabi Alhaji Ya’u; the Member representing Kaura/Birnin Magaji Federal Constituency, Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji; and the former Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya.
Okay News reports that the stopover in Zaria saw the Minister greeted by supporters before the convoy continued its journey toward the North-West political hub.
The upcoming meeting in Gusau is expected to address critical party internal affairs, including unity and strategies for regional security coordination. As the Minister of State for Defence, Matawalle’s presence in the state also carries significant weight regarding the ongoing military operations against banditry in the Zamfara and North-West corridors.
Media Adviser Ahmad Dan-Wudil confirmed that the Minister’s visit is focused on consolidating the party’s structure and engaging with grassroots stakeholders to ensure a unified front ahead of future political engagements.
