ABUJA, Nigeria – The Nigeria women’s national football team, known as the Super Falcons, advanced 1 position to 36th globally in the ranking released by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.

Okay News reports that FIFA published the updated list showing the Nigerian team retained its position as the highest-ranked squad in Africa.

The team accumulated 1602 points in April 2026, an increase of 3.35 points from their previous standing. The squad previously occupied the 37th position in the December 2025 ranking, where they held 1607 points.

The current ranking incorporates results from 2 preparatory matches for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations played against the Cameroon women’s national football team. The Nigerian team recorded a 1-0 defeat in February 2026, followed by a 3-1 victory in March 2026.
