NLC Suspends Nationwide Warning Strike Over Minimum Wage

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has suspended its ongoing strike over minimum wage, okaynews.com understands.

The warning strike which commenced on September 26 has now been suspended.

The suspension of the strike was announced during a press conference by The National President of the NLC, Ayuba Wabba on Sunday in Abuja.

In his words he said; “The suspension takes effect from today Sunday,”.

Workers are expected to resume duties on Tuesday as Monday has been declared a public holiday by the federal government to celebrate the October 1 Independence Day.

The strike which started because of workers demand for a new minimum wage of about N50,000 instead of the current national minimum wage of N18,000.
