NNPCL Warns Public Against Fake Recruitment Linked to Port Harcourt Refinery

By Muhammad A. Aliyu

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has cautioned the public against a fraudulent recruitment link circulating online, falsely linked to the recently revamped Port Harcourt refinery.

Olufemi Soneye, NNPC’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, debunked the claims in a statement on Friday, clarifying that no new recruitment process has been initiated beyond the legitimate exercise launched last year.

Soneye emphasized that the ongoing recruitment process remains on track, with candidates who passed the computer-based aptitude test now advancing to the interview stage.

“The recruitment link being shared across various online platforms is nothing but a scam orchestrated by fraudsters to exploit the excitement surrounding the Port Harcourt refinery’s revival,” Soneye stated. “We urge the public to remain vigilant and avoid falling prey to such schemes.”

The warning follows the highly anticipated resumption of operations at the Port Harcourt refinery, which began processing crude oil and loading petroleum products for distribution on November 26, 2024, after years of inactivity.
