‘No Rape and Robbery Attacks on FUOYE Students’ – Management

By Adamu Abubakar Isa

The management of Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has refuted claims of rape and robbery attacks on students in the Ikole community.

According to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration, Prof. Tajudeen Opoola, the university has taken robust security measures to ensure the safety of students and staff, and such incidents did not occur on campus.

Prof. Opoola described the claims as “monumental falsehood” and “misleading,” clarifying that any incidents occurred outside the university premises. He assured students of their safety on campus, citing the university’s cordial relationship with host communities and the presence of quality security gadgets and personnel.

While acknowledging the recent incidents, the university’s security unit has taken necessary actions to prevent future occurrences. Students are advised to remain calm, security conscious, and avoid late-night movements or walking alone in isolated areas off-campus.

The university management has urged students to disregard the false claims and assured them of their commitment to providing a safe and secure environment for all.
