The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced the start of its nationwide physical verification exercise for foreign-trained Nigerian graduates registered under the 2025 Batch ‘C’ Service Year.
According to a statement released by the NYSC management, the verification will be conducted from Monday, November 10, to Wednesday, November 12, 2025, across designated centres in the country. The exercise aims to confirm the authenticity of academic and travel documents submitted by graduates who completed their education abroad.
The Corps emphasized that the verification is strictly for Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) whose credentials have not been physically verified after online registration.
The statement, which was also shared on the agency’s official X handle, listed the verification centres as follows: NYSC Secretariat, 2 Abakaliki Road, GRA, Enugu; Shadawanka Military Barracks, Bauchi; NYSC Orientation Camp, Kubwa, Abuja; Bukavu Military Barracks, Fagge, Airport Road, Kano; NYSC Orientation Camp, Iyana Ipaja, Lagos; NYSC Secretariat, New Ikirun Road, Osogbo; NYSC Secretariat, 40 Ikwerre Road, Port Harcourt; Eagle Officers Mess, Gingiya Military Barracks, Gusau Road, Sokoto; and NYSC Secretariat, Federal Secretariat Complex, Yola.
“As part of the measures to ensure orderliness and avoid overcrowding, Prospective Corps Members are expected to strictly report on the date, time, and venue specified on the verification slip,” the statement read.
The Corps further directed all participants to present the original copies of their academic credentials and travel documents as uploaded during their online registration.
Medical graduates are also required to bring along their professional licenses, registration certificates, and other relevant documents issued by their respective medical regulatory bodies.
Okay News reports that the NYSC clarified that only those who are physically verified and cleared during the exercise will be considered for deployment, exemption, or exclusion from the national service. The Corps also noted that graduates who studied abroad must submit original evaluation letters from the Federal Ministry of Education at the NYSC Headquarters in Abuja and upload acknowledged copies online.
The management warned that failure to appear for physical verification at the designated centres could affect the deployment process of the affected candidates.
The NYSC recently extended the online registration period for the Batch ‘C’ mobilisation by 48 hours due to network-related challenges reported by several prospective corps members. The new deadline is expected to expire by midnight on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.
This verification process comes amid growing global concerns about fake academic certificates obtained from unaccredited institutions abroad.
