ABUJA, Nigeria – Former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi and former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso held a closed-door meeting with leaders of the Nigeria Democratic Congress in Abuja on Sunday, May 3, 2026.
Okay News reports that Obi and Kwankwaso arrived at the Guzape residence of Seriake Dickson, National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, at 5:18 p.m. WAT.
Supporters operating under the Obi-Kwankwaso Movement gathered outside the residence, chanting “O-K is okay” as the politicians entered the premises. Kwankwaso wore a white babanriga with a red-and-white Kwankwasiyya cap, and Obi wore a black kaftan with a matching cap.
The meeting occurred 24 hours after Buba Galadima, Secretary of the Board of Trustees for the New Nigeria People’s Party, said at a stakeholder gathering that two politicians plan to announce a new political platform on Monday, May 4, 2026.
Obi recently withdrew his membership from the African Democratic Congress, citing internal divisions and external interference.
