Geneva, SWITZERLAND – Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), has issued an urgent public warning regarding a fraudulent investment scheme falsely using her identity and a cloned version of a major Nigerian news website.

Okay News reports that the scam utilizes a fake version of the Nigeria’s Punch Newspaper website to promote a platform called “Prime Aura Investment Program 2026.” The fraudulent article claims that Okonjo-Iweala has launched a “new prospect” that guarantees Nigerians an income of ₦450,000 per week with minimal investment.

“Please note this fake use of my name and photo and ignore,” the former Finance Minister stated on Friday, April 10, 2026. She revealed that her legal team and staff are currently investigating the matter and have confirmed that the website is a malicious clone.

Expressing concern for potential victims, she added, “I don’t want anyone to lose their money given that this is on a supposed Punch website and Punch is a popular Nigerian paper. We must fight the fraudsters vigorously!” She also called on the management of *Punch* to take swift action against the unauthorized use of their brand.

The scam appears to use a URL (auroranexusllc.com) that is entirely unrelated to the official Punch website, a common tactic used by cybercriminals to deceive unsuspecting individuals. Authorities have consistently advised Nigerians to verify investment opportunities through official regulatory channels and to be wary of “guaranteed” high-return schemes.
