Osun: Chaos Erupts as APC Members Moves to Occupy LG Secretariat

Officials voted on the political party of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) in the October 15, 2022, Local Government elections in Osun State on Monday occupies the Boripe Local Government Secretariat in Iragbiji, Osun State.

On the other hand, members of the party that attempted to occupy the Olorunda local government secretariat, in Igbona, Osogbo were debarred, leading to chaos in the area.


Reports has it that as at 9:20am the entrance to Olorunda LGA secretariat was entangled with armed police operatives at the junction leading to the location.

APC members who had gathered to the entrance of the secretariat were sent out.

Security operatives like NSCDC and members of Amotekun Corps were also on the ground, making moves to calm PDP members who were in anger, positioning themselves at the entrance of the secretariat.

The gate was closed and no one was permitted to enter.

Individuals suspected in the usage of phone recording of the situation in a storey building near the secretariat were dealt with and their phones destroyed.

Hoodlums with charms were seen punishing those recording with phones.

Osun State Commissioner for Rural Development, Mr. Gani Olaoluwa, addressed PDP members near the secretariat urging them to remain peaceful.

“We thank you for heeding our call. We won’t allow any illegal takeover here. No court judgement restored them here”, Olaoluwa stated.
